Wellhead Equipment PR2 Test: Design Validation at High and Low Temperatures

PR2 test is a product design validation. It verifies the performance of valves and wellhead equipment under ambient, high and low temperature conditions. The product needs to be validated at ambient, high and low temperatures. Because it covers the complete temperature cycle, the test cycle is relatively long.

The PR1, PR2 and PR2F levels are defined in API Spec 6A and API Spec 6D, corresponding to different temperature classes, materials and sealing requirements.
